1. Keep it clean

The inner lining should be cleaned with warm water and mild detergent. It is advisable to not squeeze the foam lining too hard as it might damage it.

2. Dry it out

Wearing a helmet for a long duration creates an odor from the sweat getting into the inner foam lining. That is why drying your helmet under the sun is essential. It helps disinfect the foam and removes the odor. It is also advisable to not use a high-intensity dryer as it can alter the shape of the foam layer.

3. A clear visor

The visor is an important part of the helmet that shields the rider’s eyes from dust, sun rays, and insects. It is important to be careful while cleaning the visor. A few tips that can be useful are to not use ammonia-based cleaning agents especially if one has the anti-glare coating. For a normal visor, dip a paper towel in water and place it on the visor, let it loosen any dust or dirt that can be caked. Later, wipe with a clean cloth.

4. Use better storage

Many place their gloves, keys and sunglasses in the helmet. But what we fail to understand is that the sharp edges may scratch the inner foam lining or they may make the lining dirty too.  That is why, it is better to use proper storage for different belongings.
