Modern motorcycles also have on board navigation and call management applications that allow you to connect your mobile phone and receive calls on the go! Don’t Just Depend On One Mobile Network
Like they say never put all your eggs in one basket. This is true for your communications devices as well. Do not just depend on one mobile network or a single mobile phone because technological things are prone to damage and malfunction. On top of that mobile networks in rural areas in india are not as reliable as those in urban cities and towns. That is why you must always have a backup plan to connect with people back home. Many riders carry at least a couple of mobile phone SIM cards with them and have a dual SIM mobile phone that enables them to have a backup plan always in their pocket. In the rare case, when you are not able to connect with either of the SIM cards, you can always make a call using a landline telephone at a hotel or restaurant or if it's an emergency case, you can approach a local police station to use a landline phone.
Maintain An Online Journal/Blog
If you are not too keen on making phone calls regularly a good way to circumvent that all the while giving regular updates is it to maintain an online journal or a blog where people around the world can follow you and find out where you have been and where you are headed to. This makes things a lot better because instead of feeling an obligation, you will have an interesting activity to look forward to at the end of every day’s ride. This gives you the opportunity to share your experiences with the world and also give your friends & family a much-needed update about your whereabouts.
Power Back-ups Are Crucial
There is a good chance that you might find yourself in locations with dubious electrical connections and no power backup. Across rural india electricity is more of a luxury than a basic necessity and it is very common for them to have long hours of load shedding during which there is no electricity available at all. If you happen to be at such a place at night during which you change your mobile phones and electronics, you will miss that crucial window. This is why you must always have a couple of fully charged power banks with you at all times. Whenever you get the option of a good electrical connection make sure to top them up and keep them ready for action on the road.
