Does Your Helmet Stink-Try These 5 Step Cleaning Process

With a high temperature of summers, helmets become stinky because you have to sweat consistently and dad gets absorbed by the inner lining and padding of top branded premium motorcycle helmet that you may have been using for all these years to stop the longer you use the helmet without changing it, the worst the stink becomes! So, with that in mind, here are 5 simple steps that you can do to clean the helmet ensure that it does not stink.

Take the helmet apart  

Refer to the manufacturers manual order website and find out if the helmet you have with you is module in nature and can be taken apart piece by piece. If that is not the case gently remove whatever part can be removed without breaking or damaging the helmet. Once everything has been taken apart, proceed to the next step.

Soak the helmet in soap solution   

now that the helmet has come apart, so the entire helmet in a soap solution and allow it to stand for at least 15 to 20 minutes. This will ensure that all the deeply large dirt and grime in the helmet inner lining and padding starts to become loose and come off easily when you follow the next step. In case the hell what could not be taken apart, don't worry, and just soaked entire helmet in a bucket of soap water.

Gently exfoliate the dirt and grime  

 the next step is to take the helmet out of the solution bucket and you sing a soft cotton cloth rub the surface of the helmet in such a way that the grime starts to come apart easily. Make sure that you are not applying a lot of force on the helmet surface because that can damage the paint. This is even more important if you have a branded premium helmet because the paint job itself is an expensive part of the entire helmet! In that case, you may want to use a good quality commercial product for washing the helmet. Once you feel that the top surface has become clean, hold it under running water tap and allow all the dirt and grime to flow away.

Allowed helmet to dry naturally  

The next step is a natural progression after techniques mentioned above- which is to allow the helmet to dry naturally industries. Do not place the helmet directly under sun especially after using a commercial soap application because that can react with the high temperature of the sun and cause irreversible damage on the paint. Once the water has completely dried off from both inside and outside of the helmet, user dry soft cotton to wipe off any water marks on the surface of the branded premium helmet.

Assemble the helmet  

Now, please the parts of the helmet together and assemble it back to the original form it was before you started to take it apart for stuff you may also want to refer to the photographs and diagrams on the manufacturer's website or on the Internet for a little help on which part goes where.

Deodorise- whenever you get a chance!  

The final step of the process to deodorise the internal parts of the helmet weather commercial deodorizer- ideally a helmet or car deodoriser and allowing it to become normal before putting it on your head. Always remember not to use the helmet immediately after deodorising it because the chemical particulates of the deodorizer can get inside your nasal cavity and causes Irritation.
