So, let's get started, with these life-simplifying hacks.
De-greasing riding gears
Let's start with the most obvious problem that every motorcycle rider will have to face in their lifetimes- and that is the problem of grease stains on their clothing. Thankfully the solution is quite simple, all you need is a little bit of WD40, the most popular lubricant known in the automobile industry, and spray a little bit of it on the scene. As it did the location with your fingertips for a couple of minutes, and then throw it in the washing machine for a regular wash. If the stain is not on your clothing, but on the surface of a wall, or the floor- cleaning it up is also just as simple. You need a little bit of dishwasher that can be sprayed on the surface of the scene and using a wet newspaper scrub the surface for a few moments understand will come off easily. As the final step, wipe it off with a clean piece of newspaper or tissue paper whichever is convenient and available to you. Removing grease stains from your hands is even more simple. Take a little bit of regular sugar in your palm, add a little bit of this washer to it and start washing your hands. Even the most stubborn stains on your hands will come off without any fuss!
Opening stuck fuel caps
One of the common problems with a motorcycle that has been in use for several years is the fuel cap becoming stuck to the tank. If it has become a challenge for you to remove the fuel tank cap at the petrol pump it might be because of lack of lubrication which can be easily solved by completely removing the fuel cap (if it is removable) and spraying a little bit of WD40 on it. In case the fuel cap cannot be completely removed- and the problem is not with the fuel cap itself but in the keyhole sprinkle a little bit of graphite powder on it. Just take a regular pencil and scrub off the tip to make a few small shavings of the graphite and put it in the keyhole – and the problem will be solved! To check, insert the key once or twice and try to remove the fuel cap normally, you will see the difference right away.
Preventing fogging on helmet visors
While writing during the winters, the helmet visors becoming fogged up is one of the most irritating problem ever! Not only does it drastically reduce visibility, but it also creates the problem of headache because your eyes have to squint in order to focus things on the road in front. Thankfully, the remedy is quite simple – just get yourself an anti-fogging best quality premium motorcycle branded helmet designed by the best helmet manufacturers in India. If you recently bought a helmet that does not have antifogging visors, not to worry you can apply a little bit of toothpaste on both surfaces of the visor and wipe it clean with a soft cotton cloth. Make sure not to leave behind any residue of the toothpaste. Now when you ride in the cold conditions, the visor will not fog as badly as it did before.
Mounting action cameras on helmets
Recording your motorcycle rides has multiple benefits. One of the most obvious benefit is that you have visual evidence in case you ever happen to get into an accident to prove your innocence or at least your point of view. The second benefit of recording rides is that you can start making a passive income by uploading the videos on YouTube and creating a travel vlog. But, in order to do any of that, you need a sturdy camera that is capable of recording stable footage. Unfortunately, even with the most premium action cameras in the market it might be quite difficult to keep the camera upright against strong winds. The solution is not in twisting the knobs on the camera mounting attachments. If you see closely, the mounts come with tiny Phillips head screws which can be tightened with a small multitool. Keep one in your motorcycle repair kit at all times. Even smaller keychain multitools will do the job! Next time you find the camera unwilling to cooperate, the problem could be with the mounting system screws- so be prepared for it.
Parking on muddy or loose surfaces
One of the most common problems in India, or any other Southeast Asian countries for that matter, or if you find yourself riding on unpaved nature trails very often is the problem of parking the motorcycle on loose surfaces which creates the problem of the motorcycle tipping over – and with heavier motorcycles that can be a huge headache! Here is a hack that can literally save you from a back pain. Find a crushed aluminum beverage can, or any other solid material that can be molded into a flat piece and put it under the side-stand of the motorcycle. A thick piece of cardboard or a flat piece of rock will also do the job quite as easily.
Securing the helmet after a ride
Have you often found yourself in the predicament of having to carry the helmet on your arms after completing a ride? It is one of the most common hassles every two-wheeler rider has faced, and it is not convenient to be honest. But leaving the helmet behind unguarded on the motorcycle is not safe either.
